Home » Frequently Asked Questions » Can I get Critical Illness Cover after Cancer?
Answer:
It is possible to get Critical Illness Cover once you have been free of cancer for a set period of time. With some low staging and grading cancers Critical Illness Cover can be available at standard terms. However most individuals with a history of cancer will have their policy accepted at special terms which can include a premium increase, cancer exclusion or postponement of the application. Depending on your circumstances you may find your application for Critical Illness Cover post cancer, is declined with some insurers, at which point you may need to look at more specialist providers.
If you find that Critical Illness Cover is not available to you, it could be worthwhile considering seeing if you are eligible for an Income Protection policy, that often has more flexible acceptance terms.
