Zimbabwe & Life Insurance
Being home to one of the seven wonders of the world makes Zimbabwe a go to place, on many people’s travel bucket lists.
A short holiday or business trip to Zimbabwe is unlikely to affect your ability to get life insurance. But, some travel can.
To check your life insurance options we will ask:
- When are you planning on travelling to Zimbabwe?
- Is your trip for a holiday, visiting family, or work?
- How long will you be staying?
- What area of Zimbabwe will you be visiting?
For most insurers, holidays under 30 days or business trips shorter than a week are generally fine, meaning your life insurance should be offered at standard terms.
Your trip may not even be a factor in your application depending upon the life insurance question set. However, if it is, insurers may ask for more details about your destination in Zimbabwe and it is possible that you might need to speak with a specialist insurer for your life insurance.
Our award winning advisers are here to search the market for you, so you don’t have to, to make sure that you get the best life insurance cover.
British citizens who have moved abroad can often still access life insurance and critical illness cover in the UK. There are specific rules that you must follow to be eligible for new life insurance and critical illness policies, and we are here to strip out the jargon and get you the cover that you need.
Critical illness cover pays out a cash lump sum of money, if you are diagnosed with a medical condition that is listed in the insurer’s claims set e.g. cancer, heart attack, stroke.
If your trip to Zimbabwe is going to be short, you should be able to get critical illness cover at standard terms. This means that there is no increase in premiums and there aren’t any exclusions on the policy.
However, if you are travelling to areas seen as high risk by the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office, some insurers may postpone your application.
Our advisers know which insurers to place your application with so that you get the best terms for critical illness cover.
Income protection pays you a replacement of your monthly income, if you are unable to work due to ill health.
If your trip to Zimbabwe is short, most UK insurers should be able to offer you income protection insurance without any issues.
However, if you spend an extended period outside the UK, insurers may question your residency and tax status, which are crucial factors in income protection policies.
Our expert advisers will listen to your circumstances and let you know the best way to protect your income.

“Amazing service. Excellent customer service from start to finish. All of those who assisted were great, but an even bigger thanks must go to Amy for her efforts finding the policy that was best for my situation. Cura only came to my wife and I’s attention after a recommendation on social media. They are a service where the more people know about them the better.” - 5
