Are you planning on relaxing in the thermal baths in Budapest? Or travelling to some of Hungary’s lesser-known destinations? Whatever you decide to do, you may be looking for some life insurance.
When you apply for life insurance the application often asks about places that you are planning to travel to and the good news is that Hungary is not currently seen as a high risk location.
To check your life insurance options we will ask:
- When are you travelling to Hungary?
- How long will you be staying in Hungary?
- Why are you travelling to Hungary?
You are very likely going to find normal terms for life insurance, if you are travelling to Hungary for holiday or a short business trip. This means that the premium you pay each month should not be increased due to your travel. However, it’s always a good idea to check this out.
Usually holidays in Hungary will have little impact when applying for life insurance. If you are planning on spending more than 30 days in Hungary, you’ll need to make sure you have the right insurer for your circumstances.
Our award winning advisers are here to search the market for you, so you don’t have to, to make sure that you get the best life insurance cover.
British citizens who have moved abroad can often still access life insurance and critical illness cover in the UK. There are specific rules that you must follow to be eligible for new life insurance and critical illness policies, and we are here to strip out the jargon and get you the cover that you need.
To access these policies you sometimes need to have a UK liability which could be anything from a mortgage, to children at university. If you do not have a UK liability then we can potentially look at international cover for you.
Critical illness cover pays out a cash lump sum of money, if you are diagnosed with a medical condition that is listed in the insurer’s claims set e.g. cancer, heart attack, stroke.
When travelling to Hungary you will probably find critical illness cover offered at standard terms. How much time you spend in Hungary per journey and each year will determine which insurer is right for you.
If you travel regularly to Hungary for work it is really important to pick the right insurer for you, as some might not be able to offer you the insurance if you are travelling frequently. The insurer typically needs to know what work you will be doing there and how often you go to Hungary for work.
Our advisers know which insurers to place your application with so that you get the best terms for critical illness cover.
Income protection pays you a replacement of your monthly income, if you are unable to work due to ill health.
Income protection will probably be fine to arrange if you are travelling to Hungary for a holiday or short business trip. The times that things can be a little more complex is if you are spending quite a bit of of time outside of the UK each year.
If work takes you to Hungary this can sometimes have an impact on your income protection application. We’ll need to ask you if you pay UK tax and if you are UK resident, just to make sure the policy is appropriate for you.
Our expert advisers will listen to your circumstances and let you know the best way to protect your income.
