Sarcoidosis & Life Insurance
Sarcoidosis is a condition that can affect many areas of the body. The type of sarcoidosis that you have will affect your options for your life insurance.
Our expert advisers are here to search the life insurance market for you, to make sure that your life insurance application goes to the best insurer.
Here are a few things that we need to know about your health:
- When were you diagnosed with sarcoidosis?
- What areas of your body are affected by the sarcoidosis?
- What symptoms do you experience?
- What medications and treatment have you had?
- Do you have any outstanding tests or investigations?
If you have had sarcoidosis in the past and are now recovered from the condition, then you should have options for life insurance with most UK insurers.
The type of sarcoidosis that you have had will be a big influence upon the insurer that will be right for you. As an example sarcoidosis of the skin that has resolved within a few months, will be viewed differently to sarcoidosis that has caused inflammation of the lungs.
The treatments that you have taken can sometimes lead us to choose specific insurers over others for you too. If you have needed long term treatment with steroids, have needed any surgery or have taken time off work due to the sarcoidosis, then the choice of insurer is key to getting you the life insurance that you need.
Depending upon the type of sarcoidosis that you have had your life insurance may be offered at standard terms, or you might find that some insurers decline your application for life insurance.
This is why our award winning advisers are here, to find the insurer that is going to give you the best options for life insurance. Please get in touch for a no obligation quotation.
Sarcoidosis & Life Insurance Podcast
Sarcoidosis & Critical Illness Cover
Critical illness cover pays out a cash lump sum of money, if you are diagnosed with a medical condition that is listed in the insurer’s claims set e.g. cancer, heart attack, stroke.
Your options for critical illness cover will depend upon the type of sarcoidosis that you have had, any ongoing symptoms you experience and how much it affects your day to day life.
If you are able to access critical illness cover it is quite likely that the premiums will be offered on non-standard terms. This means that the insurer will increase the premiums above the basic cost of the critical illness cover.
Our advisers are here to find the best critical illness policy that you can have, so that you can decide the insurance options that feel right to you.
Sarcoidosis & Income Protection
Income protection pays you a replacement of your monthly income, if you are unable to work due to ill health.
When you apply for income protection most insurers will ask about any symptoms of sarcoidosis that you have had. Sarcoidosis will usually come up in the question set for at least 5 years since you had symptoms and treatment of the condition.
If you still have sarcoidosis you will probably find that many mainstream insurers are unable to offer you income protection. This does depend upon the type of sarcoidosis that you have had and your ongoing symptoms. If you have a very mild form of sarcoidosis then you will have more options.
There are a number of income protection providers that can potentially consider your application if you are still living with sarcoidosis. These are more specialised options that you need to apply for through a broker like ourselves, as they do not offer direct to consumers.
Our team will do their best to get you a competitive income protection policy, that gives you peace of mind for your financial future.
