Life Insurance for young adults is available with all of the main insurance providers operating within the UK. The primary consideration that will be made with these types of applications is the determination of the insurance interest of the insured.
A young adult is considered to be a person of 18 years or older. A person is usually considered to have an insurable interest if they contribute to the family household or have people dependant upon them. There are many 18 years olds out there who are in full-time education and do not work, meaning that their insurable interest is quite low and thus the need for Life Insurance is low.
One consideration should be that many young adults today have already started their own families and if they were to die, their own young children would be left with the income from a single parent to meet their needs.
When you consider these circumstances it is understandable as to why Life Insurance can be of benefit to young adults. An advantage that young adults will find is that their basic Life Insurance premiums will be cheaper than older individuals, as it is perceived that the younger you are the less likely there is to be a claim on the policy.
Life Insurance for young adults should be discussed with an insurance adviser who can fully explore your individual circumstances and recommend the correct insurance product for you.
