I am absolutely over the moon to have been named as a Diversity Champion by the NextGen Planners, at their Future of the Profession Awards.

The virtual curry and awards night were a first for me and it was lovely to be involved in such a welcoming event. It was also great to see my most recent guest on the Practical Protection Podcast, Catherine Morgan, win for her financial coaching programme too.

Now like any other awards ceremony, Christmas do or team building event, it wouldn’t be normal if one of my kids took over. Cue my two year old banging his head just before the awards. We attended together, I was on mute and made a whispered thank you speech.

Winning an award for diversity means so much to me. I have faced some barriers and hurdles in my life, and I have always wanted to do something that helps people. Channelling my work as an insurance adviser, to help build fair access to insurance, brings me a lot of joy.
