Getting to know us better – February 2023 recap
We have had a big start to the year with award nominations, changes to the team and lots of strategic planning.
We are delighted to have three team members named as finalists in this year’s Women in Protection awards.
- Leanne Stancliffe – Adviser of the Year 2023
- Kellie Whetton – Woman of the Year – Customer Support 2023
- Kathryn Knowles – Inspiring Leader of the Year 2023
I am also delighted to have been named as a finalist for Educator of the Year 2023. This is through my work as a consultant training advisers and others in the insurance sector, on how to best provide protection advice.
To carry on with our industry outreach we are really pleased to see Amy Jenney invited to the Protection Review’s Young Achiever Academy later this year. After winning their Young Achiever award in 2021, Amy is very keen to build upon her career as a protection adviser.
You might notice that we are back to me writing the blogs, rather than Jade who has been writing these for the past couple of years. Well, with lots of tears all round I can share that Jade has moved on to a new role. It’s a very exciting opportunity, completely different to marketing, and whilst we are sad to see her go we share her excitement in her new role.
It’s not always just about what’s happening inside Cura.
This past month we have made donations to the British Heart Foundation as a well done to Leanne and Victoria for giving blood. This is such an incredible thing for them to do.

Don’t worry if you don’t find what you love to do straight away. When you find the right job for you, you will know it and it’s never too late to start something new.
When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?
I’ve always wanted to be a mummy and now I am. My greatest achievement is having my son. I love what I do for work and I’m so happy to work in a company that’s really flexible, so I can be with my son as much as possible.
What’s your favourite dad joke?

A honeycomb.
What is your favourite thing to do when you’re not working?
Spending time with my boys. A weekend just me my son and husband, is perfect for me.
