Getting to know us better – April 2022 recap
We’re now well into spring and the weather by the coast is getting much better. Though the beach by the office is nice all year round, the sun makes it much more enjoyable. A lunch break with a sea view, what could possibly be better?
A quarter of the year has now passed and we’ve continued helping our clients as best we can. Each member of staff at Cura has been undergoing continuous training to make sure we can bring the most up to date and best product knowledge and service.
Our managing directors had quite a fun month, with Alan heading all the way to London to attend the Women in Protection Conference and bringing home an award for Kathryn. Kathryn is very proud to have won the award for Diversity and Inclusion Champion 2022.
Our donation of the month for April was to our very own protection adviser, Krystle. Krystle swam 10km throughout the month of March for Great Ormond Street Hospital.
Meet the team
Melissa – Administrator
I am an administrator at Cura and have been here for over a year now. My favourite part of the job is assisting advisors day to day and completing applications with clients. I find this job incredibly fulfilling and I enjoy how every day is different.
Summer or Winter
Winter all day, I love everything about the Christmas season and it is my favourite time of year.
What’s the best place you’ve travelled to?
My favourite place I have visited was Florence in Italy. I lived in Italy for a little while teaching English. I got to experience Italian culture and eat lots of yummy food too.
Do you have a favourite charity you wish more people knew about?
My favourite charity is the International Dog Rescue. They help rehome animals living in terrible conditions and is run solely by volunteers.
If you had to listen to one song for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Anything Beyonce
What’s your favourite dad joke?
Why couldn’t the bicycle stand up by itself? It was two tired.
Case study
A woman in her mid 40s came to Cura needing insurance to cover her mortgage and provide her with peace of mind knowing her family has financial protection. There had been a history of drug use over a 30 year period, but she has been free of using non-prescription drugs for 3 years. She now has a life insurance policy for 31 years, covering her for just over £755,000 with a monthly premium of under £226.
