Home » Frequently Asked Questions » Does Critical Illness Insurance cover Skin Cancer?
Answer:
Yes and no. This really depends upon the type of skin cancer that you have and the insurer that you have cover with. High grading skin cancers are covered by many Critical Illness plans, but low grading skin cancer will not be covered by most mainstream insurance providers. There is a specialist insurance provider who offers a Critical Illness contract using severity based claims, that will pay out a portion of the sum assured on your policy for low grading skin cancer.
If you have previously had skin cancer and have been free of the condition and treatment for some time, then you may be able to secure a Critical Illness policy. The terms that you will be provided could range from standard rates, to increased premiums, to a cancer exclusion on the policy. Should you find that Critical Illness cover is not available on the standard insurance market, there are specialist providers that we can look at for you.
