Skiing & Life Insurance
Skiing is one of those activities that I would love to do, but I am like a giraffe on roller skates at the best of times so it’s one I haven’t tried yet.
Doing a bit of skiing on holiday doesn’t usually affect life insurance applications, but there are times that it can do.
When you speak with us we will ask you:
- How often do you ski?
- Where are you planning on skiing?
- Do you ski off-piste?
- Do you ski as part of a group or alone?
- Do you take part in any competitions?
When you apply for life insurance skiing is a sport that most UK insurers will ask you about. Where you ski recreationally as part of general winter holiday, you should be able offered life insurance at standard terms with many insurers.
If you are a professional skier then you may need to place your application with a specialist insurance provider. The insurer will be interested in how much experience you have as a skier and some extra factors.
Our award winning advisers will find the right insurer to get you the best life insurance possible.
Skiing & Critical Illness Cover
Critical illness cover pays out a cash lump sum of money, if you are diagnosed with a medical condition that is listed in the insurer’s claims set e.g. cancer, heart attack, stroke.
Critical illness insurance for skiers can often be available with many UK insurers. The insurance provider will want to know if you ski for leisure purposes or as part of a competitive environment.
If you ski purely for recreational purposes then your critical illness cover application is likely to be accepted at standard terms.
Where skiing is of a competitive nature the application may need to be placed with a specialist provider who can consider cover for critical illness cover.
Our expert advisers will find the best critical illness policy to match your and your skiing.
Skiing & Income Protection
Income protection pays you a replacement of your monthly income, if you are unable to work due to ill health.
Income protection for skiers will generally be accepted at standard terms where the skiing is a part of general winter leisure pursuits.
If you are skiing in a competitive event it is possible that you may need to place your insurance with a specialist insurer.
The insurer will be particularly interested in any injuries that you have had in recent years. You can find that things like a sprained ankle or fractured thumb, can lead to these areas being excluded from the policy claims set for a while.
Our insurance advisers will find the right insurer to get you the peace of mind that comes with an income protection policy.
