Spain
Spain has been such a wonderful holiday destination for my family – so many great visits to difference places such as Mallorca, Granada and Barcelona. I think my favourite memory would have to be spending most of my younger years doing synchronised swimming each day in the pool, by myself. Yep, I was that kid!
When travelling to Spain you are very likely to get life insurance under normal terms. This typically means that the premiums won’t be increased and there will be no exclusions related to your travel, though it’s always wise to double check that this is the case.
To check your life insurance options we will ask:
- When are you travelling to Spain?
- What is the reason for your travel?
- How long will you be in Spain?
Generally, holidays in Spain will not affect your life insurance application. However, if you plan to stay in Spain for more than 30 consecutive days for a holiday or more than a week for work, it’s essential to find an insurer that can accept your life insurance application.
Our award winning advisers are here to search the market for you, so you don’t have to, to make sure that you get the best life insurance cover.
British citizens who have moved abroad can often still access life insurance and critical illness cover in the UK. There are specific rules that you must follow to be eligible for new life insurance and critical illness policies, and we are here to strip out the jargon and get you the cover that you need.
Critical illness cover pays out a cash lump sum of money, if you are diagnosed with a medical condition that is listed in the insurer’s claims set e.g. cancer, heart attack, stroke.
Critical illness cover for people travelling to Spain is typically available at standard terms. How long you stay in Spain each year will determine which insurer is best for you. If you are just going for your two week sunshine fix this should be no issues and you should be able to get life insurance at normal premiums.
If you travel to Spain regularly for work, this can sometimes influence the choice of insurer. The insurer will need to know how often you are in Spain and what type of work you’ll be doing there. You can find that if you are outside the UK quite a bit that some insurers will not accept your application for life insurance.
Our advisers know which insurers to place your application with so that you get the best terms for critical illness cover.
Income protection pays you a replacement of your monthly income, if you are unable to work due to ill health.
For people travelling to Spain, arranging income protection is usually straightforward. The amount of time that you are in Spain will be a key factor in selecting the right insurer for you.
If you need to travel to Spain for work, this can sometimes impact your income protection application. A key part of most income protection policies in the UK, is that you pay UK tax. We may need to check your tax status to make sure that you are eligible for the policy.
Our expert advisers will listen to your circumstances and let you know the best way to protect your income.
