Romania & Life Insurance
There are a lot of beautiful places to visit in Romania, but I have to say that with our office’s close location to Whitby Abbey, visiting Bran Castle in Transylvania is high on the travel bucket list!
Romania is currently seen as a safe country to travel to by life insurance providers in the UK.
To check your life insurance options we will ask:
- When are you going to Romania?
- How long will you be in for Romania?
- Are you going to Romania for a holiday or work?
Most of time travelling to Romania will not be of any concern to life insurance providers in the UK. This means that you should be able to arrange life insurance at normal terms.
You can sometimes find things are a bit tricky if you plan on being outside the UK for more than 30 days for a holiday, or more than a week for work. With Romania being in Europe it’s unlikely that slightly longer travel will cause concern for your life insurance, but it could be that the insurers ask some more details about the exact places that you will be visiting.
Our award winning advisers are here to search the market for you, so you don’t have to, to make sure that you get the best life insurance cover.
British citizens who have moved abroad can often still access life insurance and critical illness cover in the UK. There are specific rules that you must follow to be eligible for new life insurance and critical illness policies, and we are here to strip out the jargon and get you the cover that you need.
Critical illness cover pays out a cash lump sum of money, if you are diagnosed with a medical condition that is listed in the insurer’s claims set e.g. cancer, heart attack, stroke.
You should be able to arrange critical illness cover at normal terms if you are travelling to Romania for a short holiday or work commitment. If you plan on staying in Romania for a while this can affect the options that you can access for critical illness cover.
Our advisers know which insurers to place your application with so that you get the best terms for critical illness cover.
Income protection pays you a replacement of your monthly income, if you are unable to work due to ill health.
You should be able to set up income protection at standard terms if your journey to Romania is a short holiday or business trip. If you regularly work in Romania or plan on living there, this can alter your options for income protection as insurers to require to be UK resident and a UK tax payer to have this policy.
Our expert advisers will listen to your circumstances and let you know the best way to protect your income.
