Yes and no. Critical Illness policies will cover you for a heart attack that is diagnosed at a specified severity, that is set by the insurer. There are some Critical Illness policies that are available that will pay a portion of the policy sum assured to you for lower severity heart attacks. You need to ensure that you read your policy documents thoroughly when you receive them so that you are fully aware of the insurers claim criteria. If you have previously suffered a heart attack then you will not be eligible for Critical Illness Cover on the standard market, and will need to look at specialist providers.
