Home » Frequently Asked Questions » Can I get Life Insurance after Breast Cancer?
Answer:
If you have been diagnosed with stage 0, low grade breast cancer with no lymph node involvement, have no other medical complications and have been clear of treatment for cancer for six months, then you may be able to secure a Life Insurance policy at standard terms.
If you have had high staging breast cancer, there has been lymph node involvement or the cancer has been aggressive, then you may still be able to secure Life Insurance but it is likely to come with a high increase to the policy premiums. This will be the case until you have been clear of breast cancer for a set number of years.
In cases of high staging breast cancer Insurers will want to speak with your GP to establish the severity of the condition and your stage of remission. This is a standard process that we arrange on your behalf at no extra cost to yourself.
If you decide to apply for Critical Illness Insurance or Income Protection cover you will need to have been clear of the condition for approximately ten years, however many insurers will still not offer these types of cover.
